Polity Now Awake

As prospective candidates resume giving hints on their strategic plans for the 2023 Presidential race, it is apparent from the body language of the poor and media reactions of the enlightened, that authentic Nigerians are simply fed up of chips from the old block.

We are all well aware of the past wins of divisive propaganda, influence peddling tactics, a false change mantra, recycling of puppets, religious appeal, bullying strategies and many more. All these may not work for 2023.

The sensible Nigerian now knows the actual difference between true national transformation and an engineered 'change' message. We can now recognize those in the polity who have struggled in their pursuit of national interest and those just driven by self-interest.

The Nigerian dream may not be clearly written on many walls yet, but it is clearly engraved on most of our hearts.

We need a truly enabling NATIONAL environment for our enterprising spirits and ingenious minds to thrive.

We need a country with systems and structures that work for the good of all, not just for the pocket of a priviledged few.

We are tired of just catering to our "stomach infrastructure". We need a country with locally relevant and globally competitive economic, political, social, and physical infrastructure.

We need transformational agents with a unifying vision, genuine passion for the weak and vulnerable, and a message of hope for the weary and wounded.

We need a heritage of faith and love for one's own country, which we can confidently bequeath to unborn generations.

We need a nation that can become the world's most attractive tourist destination, a magnet for international students, a thriving health care hub, and a toast of value-adding investors.

We need a country that bright and young minds will delight to dwell in, not seeking to fly out at the slightest opportunity in order eke out a meaningful living.

...
When we see the torch bearers of the future we envisage, we will all stand up and be counted.

Nigeria is our common and collective heritage and we must all work to preserve her legacy.

Peace and security to Nigeria.
Long live Nigeria.
