Idols and the Zeitgeist
Gold and silver
Commands all within reach to bow
Causes light heads to turn
Curries the favour of allegiance
Reduces subjects into dumb dogs
Cultural norms
Espousing nothing else but vanity
Vastly sponsored by brute beasts
Widely propagated in marketplaces
Blindly adopted by the weak
Worthless doctrines
Subtly contrary to Christ
Yet sounding vaguely profound
Appealing to the naive
Though destructive to the soul
Frail mediums
Clouds and winds yielding no rain
Rain floods that wash off sustenance
Rootless trees with large trunks
Crumbling at a moment's notice
Destructive inventions
Fascinating and brilliant
Like new goats on the block
Stubborn in fragrant authority
Lean in fruits of rightness
Worry gates
Open to every market
Care nothing for righteous reign
Clad on fads and filth
Shop falsehood from every corner
Greed for gain
Journeys along with error
Full of aimless baggage
Empty of appointed portion
Snuffs out life from the owner
Arrogant barrels
Stationed by stagnant ponds
Sounding loud and rebellious
Noisy out in crowdy intersections
Wooing the gullible into depths of hell
False gods
Self-serving stomach mechanics
Tall enough to intimidate dwarfs
Narrow pits affording no salvation
Polluted streams hosting multitudes
Knowledge merchants
Advocating temporal fixes
Shut to eternal purpose
Deep in blatant error
Bereft of life-giving truth
Empty observances
Occupying days with restless activity
Transmitting everything but Godly fear
Running massive slave camps
Building high-walled prisons
Unrelenting vanities
Unbridled appetites
Uncontrolled passions
Unrestrained ambitions
Utterly void of patient virtue
...
Abominations of the nations
Are rife and rampant
Abominations of the age
Are inimical to human wholeness
