Nigeria: The Doctrine of Election Stands Sure!

Should the axe boast against the one who chops with it?


Should the saw boast against the carpenter who saws with it?


Should the rod wield itself against those who lift it up?


Could a staff lift up as if it were not wood made by the Designer and Creator of all things?


Should the ox speak arrogantly against its owner?


The reign of idolatrous priests, who bow down to silver and gold, is now terminated! 


The defeat and shamefacedness of the arrogant princes of the earth is certain in this season!


The signs of the babblers are now frustrated!


The covetous diviners are now driven into the madness of stupor!


The wisdom of the worldly wise is now turned backward and rendered ineffective!


The knowledge of the so-called wise is now made foolish!


Where are the stouthearted and arrogant mighty men? Their hands have now become useless!


Where is the chariot and horse? At the rebuke of the God of Jacob, they are now cast into a deep sleep!


The troublers of Nigeria are currently unable to see the stumbling blocks set up by the Most High Himself!


Now, only the word of God's chosen servants shall stand!


Now, only the counsel of the Lord's messengers shall stand!


This counsel of God shall stand! 


The Judge of the whole earth will do all His pleasure!


He will raise up the waste places of Nigeria!


His cities will now praise the Lord!


The Most High's elect is His instrument and chosen shepherd who shall do all His pleasure!


The heart of kings is in the mighty hand of the Most High! He is now directing the course of their hearts, like streams of water, to do His will alone!


Nigeria, Land of Peace, you shall be built! Your waste places shall be restored!


Nigeria, the voice your enemies shall no longer be exalted over you!


Nigeria, your enemies will not prevail against you!


Nigerians, your foundations shall be laid on the Rock of all ages!

 

The doctrine of election stands sure!


The Most High knows His elect!


Let everyone who is called by the name of the Lord of hosts depart from self-centred iniquity!


The strength of the wicked in Nigeria is being cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted!


The Most High is giving strength and power to His people!


His servants, the lovers of Nigeria, will be exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter, receiving many precious things as presents!


Those who trust in the mercy of the Most High shall rejoice in Nigeria's salvation!


The song of victory, triumph, and success is now in the mouths of the chosen ones of the Most High!


Rejoice O Nigeria! It is your season of glorious and bountiful blessings!


Amen, it is done!

Beginning today Friday 25 th through Sunday 27 th September 2015, Heads of State and Government and High representatives will meet at the 70 th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to ratify the blue print of the post-2015 Development Agenda – Sustainable Development Goals. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development focuses on transforming the world with a focus on 5 Ps – People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership. The blueprint is indeed a product of conscientious consultations involving various stakeholders deliberating and debating various thematic and sub-thematic issues. Many thanks to everyone who has participated in the opinion survey on Nigeria’s 2015 presidential elections powered by Research Policy Shop . You are deeply appreciated. Respondents are male and female Nigerians, of different age groups, religious affiliation, with states of origin spread across the six geopolitical zones. This post is devoted to sharing preliminary results from the Survey. For the most part, respondents (54%) base their prospective voting behaviour on their personal evaluation of the candidate’s past/prospective performance. Another 45% of respondents base their prospective voting behaviour on ‘desirable personal characteristics’ of the choice candidate. A larger percentage of the respondents so far originate from South-West Nigeria. Most of the respondents (72%) noted they are likely to vote for the APC candidate. The Difference is Clear: Nigerian Police Barracks Versus Military/Naval/Air Force Barracks

It is not only of 7Up’s taste that we can say   ‘the difference is clear’ , we can also say same of the Nigerian police barracks in contrast with military/naval/air force (MNA) barracks.  Sometimes, irrespective of their location, the physical state of police residential buildings and adjoining environment is deplorable, with pockets of disorganized vendors and poor waste management systems.  On the better hand, MNA residential areas have relatively cleaner environments, better maintained buildings and organized trading areas. As a development economist, I am bothered that this ‘physical’ differential may be a signal to more serious social welfare issues.
